Jamal Adams Named to All-Rookie Team

Green & White S Started All 16 Games

Jets safety Jamal Adams has been named to the Pro Football Writers' 2017 NFL All-Rookie Team.

The No. 6 selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Adams finished third on the team with 83 tackles behind linebackers Demario Davis and Darron Lee. The LSU product also tallied two sacks, nine tackles for loss, five pass deflections, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. According to Pro Football Focus, Adams' 28 run tackles for gains of five yards or less led all safeties in the NFL. He also unofficially led the Green & White secondary with 1,101 defensive snaps in addition to 104 snaps on special teams.

The 6'1", 213-pounder not only made an impact on the field, but also in the locker room. Viewed as a natural leader, Adams became the voice of the secondary and played with a tangible enthusiasm all season.

"He had some good plays," head coach Todd Bowles said earlier this year. "He's an exciting player. He did a lot of things the right way. He brings a lot of emotion with him. He got the team behind him and got them into it."
